How can GG hire x% new leaders within 12 months
Creating a more structured marketing strategy
Diiferinated marketing for teens v leaders
Persona for Parents
market this is as "your daughter builds social skills, soft skills and engages in physical wellbeing in a safe, female led environment"
Posting in facebook discussion groups - cost effective
Persona for GGs (12+)
Market for this persona on instagram & facebook & tiktok.
Market for this age group as "meet new people your age" or "find your companion"
Place ads in school newsletters
ask parents of GGs who are in the Parents Committee to ask - more credible
Persona for Leaders (17+)
GG Alumni
enagage via social media/word of mouth
Facebook Group for the Girls who were GGs but are no longer associated with GGs now. To remain in touch and learn about Social events taking place.
RATIONALE: Better Chance of converting past GG members to Leaders than finding new leaders as Margo explained
"Give back to your Girl Guide" kind of notion
University Students
Stalls at careers fairs
contact uni's and ask permission
become part of GLP
become part of some wilderness society
"Be prepared to lead" /"Prepare to be a leader" kind of thing.
Utilise social media more effectively
Consolidated pages for each unit
Make sure each unit has a date and time to post their activity and update the consolidated FB page. One post per week per unit kind of thing under the NSRGGs umbrella. This gives them more followers and value for partnerships.
This will allow them to increase their brand awareness and hence obtain a larger pool of girls to pick leaders from
They can make a page called Girl Guides NSW and have a new region post what they got up to every week, along side GG's statewide posts
nominate a leader from the unit
create a "marketing leader" role i.e. a subcommittee
facebook ads
extrapolate info from data metrics
gain insight into target market
Maximise existing channels?
become more active on social existing social media sites
post once every 2-3 days and appoint guides to ensure this is done
Reducing barriers to entry
Reducing time committments
Condesing Leadership passport process
Junior leader training(acceleration of pre-emptive modules)
Allow Junior Leaders to pre-complete some modules prior to turning 18 to reduce their courseload
Allow for RPL for JL for some modules (I reckon we priotise this because it is "low hanging fruit)
. Create designated training sessions for accelerated JLs
Virtual training session (However organisation is already doing some of this)
Continue to ensure that moodle is accessible and comprehensive
Leverage Olaves to make content such as webinars to onboard leaders. Try to make all the administrative content online. Of course, some courses will be required to be in person.
Casual leaders
Create a QL leader pool out of Olaves or new adult volunteers (although Olaves is viewed as more of networking group of former GGs)
Emphasise that could be way to reconnect with younger girls and relive the GG experience, but in a time respectual manner. Allow casual leaders to join multiple units?. Create a referall program for existing leaders to incentvise signs ups.
Providing leader incentives
Retail discounts
Reach out to organisations, explain GG purpose
Cold emailing, rely on networks and references. Emphaise that GG will provide a large customer base
Explain the benefits of partnering with GG rather than what GG benefits from partnering with orgs. Similiar to PACE and how they have a document (to give partners) explaining why partnering with PACE benefits the partner organization
Camping Supplies: Kathmandu, BCF, Bunnings: Provide GG members with discount vouchers so they purchase supplies for camping/outdoor recreation
Provide further discounts as rewards for certain GGs who display leadership and initiative
Membership reimbursement and major benefits
Try to allow JL to get their membership reimbursed??
Increase integration with Duke of Ed or a similar award.
Provide a way GG can address all 3 aspects of the Award to make it easier on the participants in terms of administration. Currently they provide webinars etc
Allow GG camps to count as "adventurous journey? Actively encourage more girls to complete Duke of Ed- Last year only 2 girls did the gold award.
