        1781 Surrender of the British army at Yorktown, Virginia: Continetal Congress served as the new nations government. Helped raise troops and supplies for the war effort.
        
        1787 Constitutional Convention: Delegates from all states except Rhode Island came together at the Pennyslvania State House.
        
        1787 Constitution was Signed: It was signed by 39 of the 42 delegate present.
        
        1788 New York voted on Ratification: Federalists organized a parade in New York City to stir up some support. A float featured a ship honoring Alexander Hamilton.
        
        1787 The Federalist Papers: Was first published in 1787 and made a strong case for radification of the Constitution. John Jay, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton.
