The color wheel was first designed by Issa Newton in 1666. It is used to create new color harmonies and color pallets. The color wheel has three primary colors ( red, blue, and yellow), three secondary colors ( green, orange, purple), and six tertiary colors (yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, blue-purple, blue-green, and yellow-green).
