Perhaps this is less a question than an observation, but Donalyn’s first question call attention to the fact that people of color are largely absent from our field. If you think about some of the language authorities we have who are people of color, they’re largely in Education departments. We could certainly invite someone from our own SEHD to meet with our group, but I’m not sure they’re familiar with the scholarship we’ll be reading. Like, they’re having a separate, and maybe parallel, conversation. As a question, we could ask, Why is that?
