Assessment of, as, and for learning
Goal:
1)Assessment of learning-summative and is mostly done at the end of a task, unit of work etc.
When: at the end of a task, unit of work, etc.
Why: "It is designed to provide evidence of achievement to parents, other educators, the students themselves and sometimes to outside groups."

2)Assessment for learning- help student understand what they are to learn, what is expected of them and give feedback and advice on how to improve their work.
When:during the learning.
Why: provides the basis for providing descriptive feedback for students and deciding on groupings, instructional strategies, and resources.
3)Assessment as learning-help students learn about themselves as learners and become metacognitive.
When: during the learning process.
Why: help students understand their weakness and strengths.
Example:
1)Assessment of learning: test at the end of the unit and grading the test.
2)Assessment for learning: Self-check list and peer-check list in a writing class .
3)Assessment as learning: in class oral feedback or feedback as a reward by giving points.
