Components of the Computer System
Output Unit
a unit that delivers information from the computer to an external device or from internal storage to external storage.
monitors and projectors, headphones and speakers, or printers and plotters (physical reproduction in the form of text or graphics).
It can be text, graphics, tactile, audio, or video.
Input Unit
A computer will only respond when a command is given to the device
We enter the information using an input device, the processing units convert it into computer-understandable languages and then the final output is received by a human-understandable language.
Mouse, keyboards, scanners, joysticks, and digital cameras
Control Unit
Memory Unit
Arithmetical and Logical Unit
Random Access Memory (RAM)
Your computer RAM is essentially short term memory where data is stored as the processor needs it.
Different motherboards and systems also use different standards, such as DDR4 or DDR3 RAM
ost important components in a desktop or laptop PC
part of a central processing unit that carries out arithmetic and logic operations on the operands in computer instruction words.
In some processors, the ALU is divided into two units: an arithmetic unit (AU) and a logic unit (LU)
sometimes called paged memory management unit, is a computer hardware unit having all memory references passed through itself
primarily performing the translation of virtual memory addresses to physical addresses.
a component of a computer's central processing unit that directs the operation of the processor.
It lets the computer's logic unit, memory, and both input and output devices know how to respond to instructions received from a program.
