- - - - Some examples of Formative Assessment are: In class quizzes; exit tickets; homework; and classwork.
        
        There are many advantages to using Formative Assessments, however, there are also some risks. Some teachers feel that regular formative assessment can take too much time away from lessons, particularly considering that they often hold no weight with official grading or assessment scores. Also, if students know that the test is of no value to their final grade they may not really try, which can create results that mislead teachers
- - - - Though the data they provide can be extremely useful to teachers and administrators there are risks with Summative Assessments. Teachers and students alike often find these tests stressful. As a result of the pressure some teachers will essentially 'teach to the test', with their awareness of the test subject seriously impacting their choices in the classroom.
- - - - An example of this would be if an oral English teacher needs to get a "diagnosis" of the conversational English level of the class; so, the teacher spends the whole first class having group discussions on various simple topics (e.g. what hobbies do you have? etc.). During the discussions, the teacher floats around from group to group and observes/takes part in the conversations, jotting down notes about the overall level of the class. After class, the teacher can then use what he/she learned of where the class is at to tweak the lessons to better suit the class.

- - - - Examples of Performance assessment can be seen as the final product from an ongoing process such as project-based learning, presentation, portfolio and investigation
        
        One of the Performance examples can be conducting an investigation at Science Class, students are group at lab, dissect a chicken wing to investigate different structures of muscles, nerves, and bones
        
        Perhaps the most authentic performance-based assessments are those which attempt to closely replicate real-world situations. For example, a student who's studying to be a teacher may complete a performance-based assessment in which she teaches a class.
        
        In addition to being open-ended and authentic, as previously stated, performance-based assessments should also be: complex, time-bound, and process/product oriented (Hilliard, 2015).
