Genres and Types of Poem
Genres:
Definition: It mainly describes a subject in a great detail, whether it be a person/human, animals, or even an inanimate object. Also it describes the world around the poet.
Example of Poetry: Haiku, Limerick, Elegy, Ode, Blank Verse, Free Verse

Definition: It highly musical verse that conveys powerful feelings and strong thoughts and emotions of the poets.

Example of Poetry: Epic, Free Verse, Blank Verse
Definition: It tells story through verse, it has character, plot and settings. Present a series of event through a dialogue and it have the narrator who who relates the whole story.
Types:

A single stanza poem, that has to consists of 5 lines. The rhyme scheme of a Limerick poem is AABBA

A poem that has 4 lines (quatrain) and usually reflects upon death, mourning, or loss. Each line of the poem is written in iambic pentameter, and the rhyme scheme of the poem is ABAB

A type of poem that consists of 3 lines, and has 17 syllables in total. The first and third line has 5 syllables, and the second line has 7 syllables. The rhyme scheme of Haiku poems is ABA
