This allowed him to get the support of German Public by appealing to their wants such as overthrowing the Treaty of Versailles and the establishing of the superior Aryan Race
Exploited the fear of Communism
Point
Another way Hitler managed to rise to power was through his exploitation of the fear of Communism
Story
Farmers
Farmers feared Communism as the communists believed the state should own all lands and assets
They heard that in the Soviet Union, the government had taken farmers’ lands and killed and imprisoned millions in the process
Businessmen
Big businesses felt threatened by the communists, as in the Soviet Union, businessmen suffered as big businesses were taken over by the state
They also feared the increasing strength of the trade unions
Hitler’s manipulation
Hitler gave farmers and businessmen vague promises on how he would help them if he got into power
The farmers helped to vote him into power as their numbers were many
Businessmen helped by contributing financially to the Nazis, helping to fund their campaigns.
In the 1930s, Germany was facing extreme economic unrests, with communists fighting the police in the streets of Germany
Hitler used his personal armed forces to fight the communists and break up their meetings
This caused many Germans to feel that Germany needed Nazis to bring order back into their communities
Hitler also made vague promises to help the unemployed and other groups that have suffered economic losses
Link
This allowed Hitler to gain the respect, and most importantly, votes from different people like the Farmers. On top of that, this allowed him to secure a constant financial backing from the businessmen, and hence allowed him to continue his campaigns
Skilful at making deals with politicians
Point
Another way Hitler managed to rise to power was his skill at making decisions with politicians
Story
Hitler wanted to be Chancellor, but Hindenburg distrusted him, allowing his fellow conservative, Franz von Papen to carry on as Chancellor
Hindenburg used emergency powers to pass measures that aimed to solve the unemployment
Von Papen, unfortunately, lacked support from the Reichstag, and hence a new election had to be called
Hindenburg chose another political figure to be Chancellor, but he too resigned as he lacked support from the Reichstag
Eventually, Hindenburg caved and invited Hitler to be Chancellor. They hoped to be able to control Hitler and make him do their bidding
Von Papen was to watch Hitler from below as Vice Chancellor, while Hindenburg was to watch Hitler from above as President
They wanted Hitler to provide support for their policies as well as get rid of the Communists
They were very wrong
Link
This allowed Hitler to rise to power as he was able to convince Hindenburg to make him the German Chancellor, giving him a higher position of power.

Portrayed SA and SS as militaristic
Nazi Propoganda
Joseph Gobbels appointed to take charge of Nazi Propoganda
Deliberately appealed to people’s emotions rather than intellect
Portrayed Nazis as a strong party united behind one leader
Link
This allowed Hitler to rise to power as he was able to convince the German public that the Nazis were trying to help them, for instance, by breaking up communist party meetings, and hence secure their confidence and vote
