The bottom class was mainly consist of slaves, farmers were often classified as the lower class, then the middle class, and finally the upper class. Kings and members of the royal family are the top of the pyramid, the highest social class. As the city-state grew, there were more specialized workers, method of writing was established for record-keeping, religious buildings were built, and government systems were established.
