Family
1) Atticus shown is a very good father. He cares of his kids a lot, when she took Tom Robinson case, he got lots of negative from the people in town and he first think about how it would affect Jem and Scout at school.
2) Jem and Scout are really close to each other. They always do everything together, from bothering Boo Radley in the beginning of the novel to running away from the attacker in the end.
They have always helped each other, when they were trying to ran away from the man who attacked them, Jem fell and when Scout noticed it she stop and tried to help him.

Justice
Many people in "to kill a mockingbird" portrait as racist and intolerant persons. Tom Robinson was found guilty in the case of Mayella Ewell despite the fact that all the evidence points were saying he is innocent. That happened simply because he is a black man.

Good and evil
Atticus [wants to teach / is teaching] teach his kids what is wrong and what is right. For example, he said to Scout that she should stand in another man's shoes to understand them, or he explain[s] to Jem and Scout how Calpurnia is also part of their family and they should treat her nice even [though]they are not really relatives.

Narrator: Scout --> child: therefore we see events through child's eyes meaning that we can understand what it is like to grow up in Maycomb, in America during this period
Character Analysis
Calpurnia
Calpurnia is a black woman who was a cook in the Finch's family. She shown as a very wise and loyal woman who is a role-model for Jem and Scout.
Mother Figures: Examples --> she took the kids to the black church and gave Finch's family information about Tom Robinson.
Calpurnia is the connection between black and white people. Her character shows how communication between different races is possible
Atticus
Description: Atticus is a white man who is shown as a very moral, wise and respectful human. He is also a father of two kids.

Pick three quotes for Atticus and three quotes for Calpurnia which you think are important to their role in the novel and that you find interesting :)
