- - - - Hub performs the routine work for both sites with the spokes performing the urgent on site testing as is the case with SOHT blood science lab and through the pandemic the SOHT covid testing facilities.
- - - - As a result of the Hub and spoke model clinical scientists will be working in a more standardised approach across the network therefore providing standardised care and treatment for each patient.
    - - Increased demand on each hub and therefore more demand on clinical scientists
        
        The more the hub expands could have clinical scientists rota'd to separate departments I.e, micro, serol & virology
  - - - Reduced outgoings on maintenance and upgrading of machinery within each pathology lab
        
        This could be used to free up funding to provide more clinical scientists.
      - Cost implications if there is significant equipment downtime within the main hub
