In the US, the Patriot Act was implemented to make it easier to arrest, detain and seize the property of anyone suspected of being involved with terrorist attacks
  - - - In Singapore, frequent exercises are held by the Singapore Police Force and Singapore Civil Defence Force to test their contingency plans for acts of terrorism. One example is Exercise Northstar, which tests the Whole-of-Government ability to respond to emergency scenarios and to raise awareness on the threat of terrorism and need for continued vigillance.
