Definition

An inflammation of the vagina that can result to discharge, itching and pain also caĺled vaginal inflammation

Clinical manifestations

Unusual vaginal discharge

Iching and irritation of vagina

Painfiul urination

Pain during sexual intercourse

Alleviated temperature in genitalia

Pathophysiology

A complex and intricate balance of microorganisms that maintains the vaginal flora

The normal vaginal pH is 3.8 - 4.2

At this pH growth of pathogenic organisms usually inhibited

Disturbance of the normal vaginal pH alter the vaginal flora , leading to overgrowth of pathogens

Factors cause this can include femine hygiene products, contraceptives, vaginal medications ,STD's , stress and sexual intercourse

Encourage the patient to use protective genital pad and prevent unprotected sex

Encourage fhe the patient to keep the genital area clean and dry , avoid usage of soap .

Administer the medications of antianxiety and analgesia

Hyperthermia

Due to increase blood supply in vagina, temperature increase thus patient encourage to use warm water for genital hygiene

Encourage the patient improved diet rich in proteins and calorie calorie to enhance immunity functioning

Provide the antibiotics for possible invasion of pathogens inside vagina such flagyl (methadazolle)

Monitoring of the number of white blood cells
