Clinical manifestations
Muco purulent discharge
Post coital spotting
The cervix on examination is red and oedematous

Culture for chlamydia and neisseria gonorrhoeae
Pathophysiology
The inflammation occurs when natural defenses are disturbed.
Natural defenses which are lactobacillus levels and vaginal secretions
Drug therapy
Antibiotics Azithromycin.
Risk factors
Engaging in sexual intercourse at an early age
More than one sexual partner.
Having a history of sexual transmitted infections
Etiology
Overgrown of bacterial
Sexual transmitted infections.
Cervical cancer
I jury's due to insertion of foreign bodies.
Nursing intervention
Nursing diagnosis
Cervical inflammatoion may be related to chlamydia trachomatis as evidenced by muco purulent discharge.
Nursing management
A cervical Pap smear done and result analysed
Partner must be contacted and put on treatment.
The medication prescribed must be taken and completed.
The patient should be helped with personal hygiene.
Underwear should be washed and dryed before usage.
After defecation, wipe from front to back, to prevent faecal contamination to vulvur.
