Stage 1: Recruitment
1. Identification:
The business realizes that it needs a new employee so they make an evaluation and see if they should redeploy or employ.
2. Application:
The business decides to find the best applicant through job adverts, application of CVs or internal or external agencies.
3. Selection:
The business selects the best applicant by discarding, testing and interviewing.
Stage 2: Training
The business helps with the employees professional development through conferences, workshops and sessions to prevent the employees for deskilling. There are many
types
of training, including: Induction, On-the-job, Off-the-job, Behavioural and Cognitive training.
Stage 3: Appraisal
The business reviews the performance of the employee by
inspecting
(focusing on mistakes) or
appraising
(focusing on the positive aspects). There are several appraisal methods which include: Formative, Summative, 360 degree an d Self-Appraisal.
Stage 4: Termination or dismissal
When an employee leaves the business by termination (employees decision), dismissal (business's decision) or redundancy.
