Soft tissues injuries (Contusion)
Pathophysiology
The will be rupture of small blood vessels
Causing to bleeding that occurs into subcutaneous fat and muscle layers
This will result to local pain, swelling and poor blood circulation on affected area.
It may lead to bluish/ purple discoloration of the skin, whin will then returns to normal in few days
Definition
This is a soft tissue injury resulted from a blunt object.

Trauma
Direct flows
Nursing care
Nursing management
Apply cold compress to stop the bleeding as it will cause vasoconstriction
Elastic bandage must be applied to the extremity
Advise the patient to Reduce swelling by elivating the area affected
Advice the patient to rest the area if that is possible
Nursing diagnosis
Altered comfort and activity intolerance related to pain from the soft tissue damage as verbalised the patient
Altered risk for tissue perfusion related to Inflammatory response to the injured tissue as evidence by swelling
Evaluation
Swelling subsiding
Patient reports no pain
Clinical manifestations
Pain and discomfort
Swelling
Discoloration of the skin on the affected part
Tenderness
Medical intervention
Analgesics must be prescribed for the patient
Must also consider Non steroidal anti Inflammatory drugs
May advice in increasing of talking vitamin D and calcium
