Culture
Racial Identity
Indian
National Pride
Indian people often are very prideful to their country and the culture surrounding it, however, I feel that while many immigrants often feel prideful to their nation, many feel safer in the nation they immigrated to and often don't come back.
Perception
Indian people are often seen as academically smart people, but that's generally due to the culture surrounding education, especially with many Indians being 1st generation immigrants who have lived through the struggles of poverty, and as a result want their children to have a better life than them.
Stereotypes
Indians are often considered "smelly" people due to the type of food we eat, and as a result, we often get discrrimminated upon due to th food we eat and the smell associated with that. I personally have not experienced any major discrimmination, but its important to note that it exists and it still happens today.

While women are allowed to get jobs with little social outrage, men are often pushed into jobs more frequently than women
While sentiments about women being inferior to men are slowly decreasing over time, some men still believe that men are superior to women

Arranged Marriages
While it isn't as common in Indian society, especially in immigrant communities, arranged marriages still happen in India mainly due to tradition, parents wanting to control who their child will marry, or for a payout.
In our line of descendents, arranged marriages were very common, and due to these marriages often being done by the parents, and because our family has been in India unitl our parents came to the US in 2003, all of our descendents are exclusively Indian, and as a result I am 100% Indian

Church
This is how I've met Malayalees in my community for the most part, and as a result I don't really know as many Indians who are not Christian in this area aswell.
Prayer and Worship
Through my religion, I have been able to learn more about how people think due to the way they approach religion
Mindfulness
Religion has taught me to be mindful of everything that I do, and that I should forgive others for their actions while asking other to be forgiving of me
