Risk Assessment is a component of Risk Management, which also consists of other components such as Communication, Record Keeping and Implementation and Review
Difference between risk assessment and risk management
Risk assessment is the activity to reduce harm.
Risk management is ensuring all the control measures are put in place, used, reviewed and documented

Job Breakdown
Break down job into basic activites, not too detailed, not too general
Hazard Identification

Risk Control

b) Change the physical conditions that create the hazards
c) Change the job procedures to eliminate hazards.

Severity
Severity is the
extent of injury/harm
caused by the hazards.
It can be
classified into :
Minor, Moderate, Major (3x3) and Negligible, Catastrophic (5x5)
Likelihood
Likelihood (of accident/ill health) is defined as
probability that the incident will happen
It is classified into :
Remote, Occasional,
Frequent, Almost Certain, Rare
(5x5).
