Create a future memory. Imagining the future helps people delay gratification.
Imagine what your future self would say to you today.
Imagine your future self. This can increase your present-self willpower.
lower your discount rate
when you are tempted to move away from your future goals, frame the choice as giving up your goal.
Ten minute rule
if you do this often it can increase your Willpower
this rule is where you do a good habit for only 10 minutes, then you can quit
ask yourself
how are you discounting your future rewards
when you want to procrasinate, think about the things you have to give up in the future.
if you have goals, then no one would want to give up their goals
