Notice when a student is not meeting expectations and note
Listen and implement SENCO advice and continue to monitor this (and other) students
If minor changes to support / materials / pedagogy / methodology bring student back on level then smile, #TeacherLevelUp
Should minor changes to setting / pedagogy not prove effective within timeframe agreed, arrange follow up meeting with more notes against original SMART goals
At follow up meeting, discuss how to proceed and invite any other representatives needed
If SENCO notes this should be further investigated, collate notes from all stakeholders and arrange meeting with parents and SENCO
Discuss homelife and home behaviours / support with parents / carers and consider mutual changes that can bring student's performance up with SMART goals
If this observation is just a one off then note it in next parent meeting for any potential reason to know student better and prevent repeat
Spend time with student and note observation to any support staff in room to understand reason
