Definition
The ICH Score is a simple clinical grading scale that allows risk stratification on presentation with ICH (Intracerebral hemorrhage).
Method
- Records of all patients with acute ICH presenting
- Independent predictors of 30-day mortality were identified by logistic regression.
Purpose
This study was to define a clinical grading scale for ICH which uses criteria that are predictive of outcome and that can be rapidly and accurately assessed at the time of presentation, especially by personnel not specifically trained in stroke neurology.
Conclusions
ICH score is not as effective as GCS because of the presence of functional limitations such as age and location of bleeding that have not been associated with the severity of certain ICH types.
