Objections
Is (QOL) vs Cost-effectiveness is high enough that we should put more money into it since we have limited resources ?
Are those consequences really ‘’bad enough’’ that we should address it in a way that differs from the common actual recommendations ?
Rebuttal :
Actual INESS recommendations include to pay for insulin pump + CGM for all type 1 diabetic as a measure of increasing QOL. It is said in the report that this new recommendations should lessen the load of mental charge towards type1.
I argue that using a pump + cgm can help with the oppressive psychological aspect of having a disability but it can also backfire by causing diabetes burnout, hence why the psychological support and educational training for type 1 diabetes patient is primordial.
Studies shows that T1D are more prone to depression, anxiety , suicide. It has a human cost for the patient but also for his family/carrer.
