Express in a certain degree of accuracy. Example : Distance travelled litters of petrol, weight an height - involved decimal numbers
Example
Consider a population of 120,000 students in Terengganu. It was found that the mean height of the the students is 148 cm and the variance is 1.5 cm. It also found that the mean height 1500 students in Dungun High School is 152 cm and the variance is 2 cm.

Data & Measurement ( Data is a collection pf observations, measurements or information obtained from the study)
Sources of Data

Secondary Data ( Data is obtained from other sources - not from the researcher) Such as data from annual report / journal/ newspapers etc

Measurement - The act of determining the quantity of value of a variables or assigning number ti variable
Level of Measurements
Ordinal - Categorical as well as essence or order (Arrange in certain order ) Example : level of education : 1 = Primary, 2 = Secondary , 3= University , 4= Post-Graduate
Interval - Categorical has order that can describe " hoe much more or how much less" of a characteristic and has the existence of an "arbitrary xero point" Example : Level of satisfaction, temperature.
Nominal - Qualitative as well as categorical ( Gender 1= male, 2 = Female
Ratio - Consist of all characteristics discuss above plus another characteristics of absolute (true)zero point ( Number with starting point) Example - height of students.

Direct Questionnaire - the researcher gives the questionnaires directly to the respondents and waits for them to complete it
Other methods - Electronic e-mail, internet and short messaging services (sms)
