All actions taken by both characters are 'feminine'. Antigone, as women are supposed to at the time, values her family above all, especially considering she is willing to DIE for her brother Polyneices. As for Hedda Gabler, she is above all else afraid of scandal, which she knows as a woman, she will never be able to overcome, unlike Lovborg, who symbolises who she yearns to be, or at least what she wishes she could do.
