Characteristics:
Capture preys: insects, spiders, mites
Eat meat for their survival
Live in wet boggy areas (soil does not have much nutrients)
Derive nutrient from their preys
Have a strong digestive system (to breakdown complex food system)
Some carnivorous' pitchers are large and can consume rats, frogs
Pitfall Traps
(Pitcher plants)
Look like a pitcher shaped vessels
Filled with fluid
Lure insects by the syrupy fluid
Have a lid
Prey drinks fluid and get drowned into pitcher
Flypaper traps
Have leaves covered with sticky substance
Digest their preys through their leaves
Some have tentacles covered with gland
Stalk have digestive soup to absorbs the nutrient
Snap Trap
Venus FlyTrap
Plan has mouth like leaves
Snap shut when preys land on it
Water wheel plant
Do same things but under water
Bladder Traps
Work in the most interesting way
There are sacs on the plant (known as BLADDERS)
Suck the preys like as a vacuum
Lobsterpot traps
Lure insects (preys) with its sweet smelling nectar
Light shining through the leaves
Eat insects by digestive liquid
Make insects misdirecting and fall down the pitcher
Insects travel toward the light to escape but failed
