Identity
Personal Identity
is about how you perceive yourself to be "different" from others in areas such as hobbies, education, interests, personality traits, and so on.
Social Identity
Is the identity that you share with similar group of members. It tells how you are like others - it implies similarity rather than difference. Social identities create categories such as “ingroups” and “outgroups,” those “us” versus “them” groups.
Stereotypes, Bias, Discrimination
Stereotypes
Are conclusions made about a person based on what 'typical' members of a group would seem like. Typically, we establish stereotypes based on a small number of features, such as gender, appearance, and language, without much knowledge or comprehension of the persons involved.
Bias
is the propensity to favor that which one prefers over that which another. It is also considered to be a mistake in reasoning that might result in irrational choices.
Discrimination
is the unjust or disparaging treatment of individuals or groups because of traits like color, gender, age, or sexual orientation.
