My studio Space
Technique
Drawing
I usually draw in a sketchbook. I prefer it to single pieces of paper and I usually draw in steps that are layered. I use a combination of graphite and colerase pencils to get the lines I want - I learned this technique from Emmy
Painting
When I paint I use acrylic or water color. Similar to how I work digitally, I layer the paint in small shapes to build a larger image. I work at my desk usually with music or an audio book for long periods of time rather than short stints
Knitting
When I knit I am also doing something else. I am watching a show, reading a book, sitting in class. It is primarily a way to keep my hands busy and to quiet that part of my mind that always thinks I am not doing enough. I have mostly made hats and scarves. Things that are easy. Repetitive. I enjoy slowly building my skill. I have learned to knit and pearl, I can make ribbed work, and I can make braids in my patterns.
Sewing (machine)
When I sew I am at my desk. I inherited/share my sewing machine with my mother. She bought it used in the 90s...do its vintage. It's powerful tho, and works Quite well.
Digital Drawing
When I draw digitally I sue a wacom tablet and photoshop. Often I draw traditionally first and then scan my drawing and color and value digitally. When drawing digitally my favorite technique is to use the polygon tool and the fill tool to layer transparent shapes to make an image.
Embroidery
When I embroider I am usually mending something. Most of my embroidery is part of a pair of pants I have been adding to for years. Whenever I have an idea I find and empty spot and try it out. These ideas are often inspired by things I see on pinterest.
Sketch Up
When working in sketchup I work at my desk or in the library. I need a lot of focus for precise work and I am usually listening to an audiobook or podcast and working for long periods of time
Minecraft
When Im building in minecraft I do everything I can to not make it feel like work. I wear pjs. I have a cup of tea. I listen to fantiction combined with movie scores. I sit in my bed or on the living room couch.

Figure Skating
When I skate I am at the rink. I am wearing my skates and clothes I have converted from dance. I listen to my skating music. I usually skate for about 1.5 hr at a time. Usually I do a lesson and then stay for free skate. Its all skillbuilding and learning more than creating pieces of my own

Handbuilding
I only do clay in the ceramic studios and only when I have hours to spend. I am always listening to a story. Clay takes a lot of clean up and set up and it takes a lot of energy.
Contemporary
For all dance it is best to be in the dance studio. I need to be away from home to shake off the lethargy, and I need a big space in order to fully commit to my movements. Also the dance studio is a place where I am used to being observed. I am unbothered by an audience in that space but outside of it I become selfconcious

Exhibition
A lot of my gallery work happens in south 103. I have spent a lot of time making that space a good place to do work. We have put up twinkle lights, and hung art, and organized the tools and hardware. It is also a good hub because most of my work involves running around talking to people in various departments.
