Enzymes
Structure
Enzymes are made of amino acids that are linked by polypeptide chains. (Source) :
Properties
They increase the rate of chemical reactions without themselves being consumed or permanently altered by the reaction. Source
They increase reaction rates without altering the chemical equilibrium between reactants and products.
Lock & key
Enzymes and folded into complex shapes that allow smaller molecules to fit. The shape adapts with its substrate molecules. This makes enzymes highly specific – each type of enzyme can catalyze only one type of Source.

induced fit
This theory states that when a substrate binds to an enzyme, the enzyme will inherit the substrate's shape and properties Source.
