Summary:
Cities are places high in density with a large pop and is well built with many fuctions and facilities, but they have inter-dependent relationships with rural areas for food supply, and they in turn give rural areas healthcare, education, goods, jobs and facilities. Cities havee opportunities like education and employment, and technological innovation, but there are also problems such as increase in water pollution; due to improper management of home and industrial waste, air pollution; due to burning of fossil fuels and traffic and industrial emmissions, these cause increase in the need for healthcare services because of the negtive impact on humans healh. Other problems are land resource; due to a high demand for land bc of growing pop, and water resource; due to the competition for land source, constraction of water catchment areas are limited.
To sustainably manage a city, there has to be environmental management; these are water treatment ponds, air polluion laws and hazard management. There also has to be good quality of life to ensure that ppls well-beings are good and that they are physically and mentally healthy, this is by; providing safe housing, providing variety of transport modes and considering the needs of all groups of people.
