SUMMATIVE
Definition: These assessments are used to tell how well the student learned the unit covered. These hold a high grade value.

DIAGNOSTIC
Definition: Given to determine any strengths and or weaknesses that a student may have. Teachers can use these assessments to help plan their lessons to make learning easier for different students
KWL CHART starting what the student already knows, what they want to know, and what they learned
PERFORMANCE
Definition: Students do not answer test questions on paper, but they are able to show that they know what is taught

FORMATIVE
Definition: Used to get feedback from the students in order to modify and adjust instruction. Sometimes these hold no grade value and if they do it is very little.

INTERIM/BENCHMARK
Definition: These assessments show if a student is on the level they are supposed to be at that time in their school career. This way they have little to no trouble with future assessments.
