Drama Techniques
- Voice - due to narration and music I will not need to consider voice. However if teaching would discuss and practice; pitch, pace, pause, projection, emphasis, volume, tone, inflection, articulation, expression.
- Body - ensure that movements are within the camera lens - linked to space and movement. Ensure movements are clear and deliberate. Ensure the audience can see clearly but that the character is maintained and not focused directly at the camera unless that is the intent.
- Movement - ensure movement is captured well by the camera, movements will need to be deliberate.
- Space think about the whole area that can be seen by the camera, does it look authentic.
NZC
All Key competencies (KC's) can be linked to drama however the most relevant KC's for this would be;

My Roles
The Colonial Logger / Past. Chopping down a native tree. Goal to express the hard life of the bushman. Dangerous, cold, wet conditions with scarce amenities. Strength and power of these men working isolated in the bush. Just doing their job to survive.
The Replanting / Now. Restoration of our native bush. Representing Kaitiakatanga by replanting natives to restore our native bush for future generations. Goal to represent a positive contribution to the community and happiness to be involved in restoring our native bush and in doing so helping with our water ways and soil and therefore helping the people. Ka Ora te Whenua, Ka Ora te Tangata (When the land is well, the people are well).
The Seedling / Future (The Circle of Life). Goal to express happiness, hope for the future generations. Kaitiakatanga.
Drama Conventions
- Role on the wall. I would use this convention as a way of recording research about each character in pairs in class. Then after completing a Corridor of thought as a class for each character do another class Role on the wall to record all ideas.
- Corridor of thought. I would use this convention for the ākonga to share the ideas that they have about the characters. Then discuss what everyone came up with and complete a combined Role on the Wall for each character.
