Perlocutionary
Causes effect on hearer and/or others
Perhaps unintentionally
Can be more than 1 effects in an utterance
"Tomorrow's test is gonna be difficult."
Hearers' reactions: skeptical, panicking, denying
1 utterance can have both perlocutionary and illocutionary act
e.g. "Would you like a cup of tea?"
Perlocution: causes hearer to either accept or refuse
Illocution: offering the hearer a cup of tea
