Gnostic Christianity
- Christian idea that God sent his only “Son” to suffer and die for the sins of mankind to make it possible for the salvation of all
- Gnostic's worship more than 1 God while Christians worship only 1
Eastern Orthodox
- one of the three main Christian groups
- It differs from Christianity by the way of life and worship, and in certain aspects of theology.
Original Sin
- doctrine that says that everyone is born sinful
- This is because Adam and Eve sinned in the garden so the belief is that original innocence is lost
Apostolic succession
- The role of apostolic succession in preserving true doctrine is illustrated in the Bible

- Christian apostle who spread the teachings of Jesus in the first-century world
- He traveled throughout the Roman Empire and built churches, preached gospel etc.
Marcion
- Marcion preached that the God of the Gospel who sent Jesus Christ into the world as the savior was the true Supreme Being

- He became president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1957
- He was widely know for his I have a dream speech and his code for non violence and believed in Christianity
Calvin
- he took the beliefs of the different Protestant sects and united them in his his work known as The Institutes of the Christian Religion.
Canonical Gospels

- The canonical gospels are the first four books of the New Testament
Synoptic Gospels
- Mark, Mathew, Luke are known as synoptic because they represent similarities of the life and death of Jesus Christ.

- uncovers the depths of meaning in the Gospel of John
- looks at the development of a form of Christianity that bases around the power from within rather than a higher power
Gospel of Thomas
- Early Christian gospel comprising 114 sayings and parables of Jesus
Gospel of Mary
- book where Mary Magdalene appears as a disciple, singled out by Jesus for special teachings
- Includes inter-Christian controversies
Gospel of Judas
- Portrays Judas in a positive light as the only apostle who fully understands Jesus teachings

REFLECTION
As I did this mindmap I found that one of the most important things in Christianity is how they are monists and only believe in one God. There are other branches such as Gnostic that believe in more but generally speaking they believe in there one lord and saviour.
