-demonstrate the proper posture on a computer desk
-State the solutions to the health risks

Topic: Computer Ergonomics
Sub –Topic: health Aspects concerning correct posture on a computer desk.
Time: 12:10hrs - 12:50hrs
Duration: 40 mins

Rationale: this lesson will engage the learners in identifying the health risks concerning improper posture on a computer desk and stating the solutions to those risks. The learners will learn how to correctly sit on ac computer work station. Pair work, question and answer and demonstration will be used in the lesson. This is the fourth lesson in a series of six lessons.
Prerequisite knowledge: Learners already know about health and safety in the computer lab.

The teacher put a laptop and asks one learner to sit on the desk and lets the other learners state whether the learner correctly or incorrectly sat on the desk. Teacher asks learners to answer a question through answer garden https://answergarden.ch/2505724
Learners answer. Teacher asks what problem the user can have because of the bent back. Learners answer: Backache

Headaches
Solutions: Use an anti-glare screen or use window blinds to cut, out light reflections – bad lighting can cause squinting and lead to headaches, etc., take regular breaks and do some exercise and have eyes tested regularly and use middle-vision glasses if necessary. Teacher asks learners to answer one question on answer garden online.
Solutions: Use fully adjustable chairs to give the correct posture, use foot rests to reduce posture problems
-
Solutions: Ensure that there is no screen flicker, since this can lead to eye problems, change to Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screens where flicker is less of a problem than with Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) screens and take regular breaks and try focusing on a point which is some distance away

It is very likely to have health issues if the correct posture is not maintained while working on a computer station. A computer user can have headaches, eye problems, wrist or neck injuries. A computer user must take regular breaks, Use fully adjustable chairs to give the correct posture or use foot rests to reduce posture problems. Ask learners, at their own time to get the notes posted on google classroom: https://classroom.google.com/c/NTM1NTE1ODU1MTAy
EVALUATION
The lesson was taught and the outcomes achieved. most of the learners were not able to identify the correct posture of placing the feet. Most of the learners were able to correctly answer the question on the answer garden and also correctly identified and stated the health risks and solutions respectively.
