Case Studies
-
Example: They investigated whether car factory workers in the UK, because they were paid well compared to other factory workers, were starting to behave more like middle-class people than working-class people.
Strengths:
-Case studies allow different aspects of the case being studied to be explored using appropriate methods.
-Case Studies can provide a deep and detailed account of the case. -If the case is carefully chosen it may be possible to draw wider conclusions.
-Case studies can produce findings that can be tested by other research elsewhere.
Limitations:
-The findings may only apply to the case so generalisations cannot be made. -The findings cannot be replicated. -The deep involvement of the researchers may lead to them being influenced by their own feelings.
