The Second Covenant - Abraham was a devout man who God had promised to rule a nation known as the promised land of Canaan, home of the Israelites with God as their divine patron. To test his faith, God put him through many trials.
Abraham had to circumcise himself, taking the foreskin off of his penis. This became a Jewish tradition
He also told him to sacrifice his son to him on a holy mountain. Right before Abram went through with it, God relented and saw that his fear in God is true.
Abraham married a woman named Sarah who bore him no kids at first. He then had a child with a different woman (Hagar), who he named Ishmael. He then bore a son with Sarah who he named Isaac.
Ishmael was banished to Arabia, and his descendants became Muslims
Isaac stayed in Canaan, and had a son named Jacob. He, who bore 12 sons who would become the patriarchs of the nation, was then renamed Israel. His descendants are the Jews.
Mosaic Covenant - God bestows the 10 Commandments, which dictate the moral rules of humanity to avoid sin and how to live life, to Moses. The figure Moses is said to be the greatest of the prophets.
In order to free the Israelites, He turns to the prophet Moses, who is the prime Prophet of Judaism. He frees the enslaved Jews and parts the Red Sea for them to return to their homeland.
