RHMA
- improves the ability to hear in noisy classroom, in ILEs, lectures, work, social outings, sports events and in noisy environments
Benefits of RHMA
- has immediate assistive benefits PLUS strengthens the hearing system in the brain (normally not needed in the long term)
Benefits of Treatment
Helps with attention, participation and performance, phonological awareness, language - reading and writing, social development, confidence, and self-esteem, and reduces classroom stress and tiredness after school. Corrects sound perception, improves auditory working memory and improves speech perception in quiet and in noise
APD and AS - improves speech perception, reduced communication difficulties with no increase in noise aversion, reduced stress during listening tasks
Types of treatments - in clinic training(dichotic training), home based software (SoundStorm), audio book listening (whole language stimulation), musical or voice training (boosts brain activity and cognitive functions)
