:check: Evidence for LOC in resisting obedience: Holland (1967) repeated the Milgram study and measured whether Pps were internals or externals, 37% of internals didn't continue to the highest shock level, and only 23% of externals didn't continue. Therefore, resistance is partly related to LOC, increasing the validity of this explanation.
:red_cross: Not all research supports LOC and resistance: Twenge et al (2004) analyzed data from American LOC studies over 40 years, showing people have become more independent but also more external, this is surprising, if resistance was linked to LOC they would be more external. Therefore, LOC may not be a valid explanation for resistance to SI.
