SIMPLE PAST (ALONE)
Past actions that are over, usually in a specific time
Example: "Spain won the tournament in 2010"
Specific time
Keywords: yesterday, last night, any year in past, specific past dates
PAST CONTINUOS (ALONE)
Past actions with emphasis on duration
Example: "I was waiting for you about 40 min"
PRESENT PERFECT (ALONE)
Time no specific
Example: "Have you tried that food?"
"I have not eaten munch yet"

Keywords: ever, already, just, yet, since, for
PAST CONTINOUS + SIMPLE PAST
Example: " I was playing xbox when you called me"
"I was doing the shopping when I saw your sister"

Actions in past happening at the same time
Example: "Yesterday I was talking my class while my mother was working"

Sequence of event
Example: " I went to the mall, I bought a product and come back"
