2) Products manufactured by Under Armour include athletic shoes, t-shirts, jackets, hoodies, pants, leggings, shorts, athletic bras, athletic bags, face masks and accessories such as bags, gloves, caps and protective gear.
3) Most well known for their innovative Moisture Transport System, Under Armour apparel works for pull sweat and moisture from your body as you work, and pass it through the material where it quickly and easily evaporates. The endgame? You and your clothes stay dry even when you sweat.
4) As a fullback at the University of Maryland, Plank got tired of having to change out of the sweat-soaked T-shirts worn under his jersey; however, he noticed that his compression shorts worn during practice stayed dry. This inspired him to make a T-shirt using moisture-wicking synthetic fabric.
5) Under Armor have an excellent marketing model. They are quite good and making sure their branding is seen everywhere, just like Nike, Adidas etc. It’s all about the level of exposure to the public. The more exposure they get, the higher the price for their products they can demand.
Positives
6a) Under Armour's original HeatGear and ColdGear are resonators. The biggest reason why it's a resonator is because most of their original sales and contracts came as a result of word-of-mouth. Players loved the products so much they would tell those around them who would also benefit by wearing Under Armour
Negatives
6b) Under Armour Inc. sank the most in five years after an earnings report revealed it's struggling with supply-chain issues and pandemic-related shutdowns in China. Under Armour reported an unexpected loss and sales below estimates as the company grappled with global supply chain challenges and Covid lockdowns in China. The athletic apparel retailer's stock fell as it also issued profit guidance that came in below Wall Street estimates
Apple
1) Apple's corporate mission is “to bring the best personal computing products and support to students, educators, designers, scientists, engineers, businesspersons and consumers in over 140 countries around the world.”
2) Apple Inc. designs, manufactures and markets smartphones, personal computers, tablets, wearables and accessories, and sells a variety of related services. The Company's products include iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Wearables, Home and Accessories. iPhone is the Company's line of smartphones based on its iOS operating system.
3) More than being flashy or eye-catching, Apple designed its products to look clean, simple and straightforward. Visual simplicity is being practiced by Apple, and this is apparent in the design of its iPhones and iPads. They look clean, the interfaces are free from clutter, and the fonts are elegant and clean as well.
4) Apple has managed to influence all age groups and the overall impact is that they are pushing people who would otherwise shirk away from technology to using their products as the stepping stone. Apple will always have that familiarity amongst users which cannot be said of other tablet or electronics companies. Apple (1976–1985) "Basically Steve Wozniak and I invented the Apple because we wanted a personal computer. Not only couldn't we afford the computers that were on the market, those computers were impractical for us to use.
5) Apple products are known for their simplicity as well as having an appealing look and feel to them. Along with the attractive appearance of Apple products, the consumer is also wrapped up in the well known good customer service and reliability that Apple offers.
Positives
6a) Apple is known for designing products that are atypical yet the best as well as unparalleled. Take the iPhone X for instance, the phone uses the A11 Bionic chip – the fastest and the smartest mobile phone in the world. Structurally, functionally and aesthetically, Apple leads in every way. Apple promotes their products through commercials and print ads, focusing on how their products are different from competitors. Commercial ads run when a product is first launched and print ads will run throughout the product's life
Negatives
6b) Criticism of Apple includes allegations of unethical business practices such as anti-competitive behavior, rash litigation, dubious tax tactics, the use of sweatshop labor, misleading warranties and insufficient data security, and concerns about environmental destruction.
But other manufacturers are not welcome in its eco-system, even if they are prepared to uphold the strict software standards of Apple. But the most important reason to stop buying Apple products is that Apple is too big and too powerful. Power always corrupts, and Apple is a case that proves this point
Primark
1) Primark products are made with respect for people and for the planet. But we know an ethical supply chain can't be a solo project. That's why we work in partnership with global and local experts to help deliver change. This is crucial to achieve the standards we require for workers in our supply chain.
2) Primark is a leading retailer specializing in the sale of clothing, accessories and footwear. The company was started in Dublin, Ireland in 1969 by the Weston family. After its success as Penneys, it expanded into other countries. Primark offers a diverse range of products, including: baby and children's clothing, womenswear, menswear, homeware, accessories, footwear, beauty products and confectionery. The chain sells clothes at prices below those typically charged.
3) Primark is a leading international clothing retailer employing more than 65,000 colleagues in 14 countries – and growing. Everything we do is built around everyday affordability: from great quality essentials to stand-out style, trend setters to multi-generational families, everyone is welcome at Primark.
4) Primark was founded by Arthur Ryan in 1969 as Penneys, a single shop in Mary St, Dublin, with the goal of bringing affordable clothing to Ireland.
5) Primark has established itself as the deserved leader of affordable fast fashion for all. In tough times when disposable income is squeezed, Primark allows people to stay on trend on a budget,” explains Sarah. “As a brand Primark is clear about its offer and what it stands for, so delivers that with confidence.
Positives
6a) This success mainly comes from its positioning as a low-priced fashion retailer, according to an analysis by Kantar Worldpanel, released at its Fashion Morning conference. Everywhere in Europe, Primark has won over its target market of under-35, cutting across all social classes. “Primark has established itself as the deserved leader of affordable fast fashion for all. In tough times when disposable income is squeezed, Primark allows people to stay on trend on a budget,” explains Sarah. “As a brand Primark is clear about its offer and what it stands for, so delivers that with confidence.
Negatives
6b) Ultimately, the fact that Primark's business model is based on creating huge amounts of short-lived, poorly-made fast fashion products inherently contradicts the values of ethical fashion and spells nothing but bad news for the environment, workers, and animals. Primark was poorly reviewed in the 2019 Tailored Wages UK report published by Labour Behind the Label. It claimed Primark showed no evidence of workers being paid a living wage and said “Primark should sign a legally-binding, enforceable agreement with worker representatives to deliver a living wage”.
