Savoring & gratitude provides foundation
Anyone noticed they forgot to include personal qualities in gratitude list?
Anyone in the room finds it difficult to receive a compliment?
Why difficult? jealous, brag, alienate, alone.
Two insights:
Common humanity- everyone has strengths. I may be better at this and u better at that.
Interdependent causality
Apply MSC 3 component for both + and - qualitifies!
Write down 10 small and insignificant things
Say out loud, popcorn style 1-2 things
Ask how everyone feel

Savoring
: recognize, allow to be drawn, linger and let go
Most mindfulness practice can be practiced as savoring practice by shifting the intention(my example: washing hands)
Gratitude
Enhance well-being (numberous of studies, Yale popular course)
Wisdom practice.
Relational/Connection practice.

Savoring the good
Default mode network always search for problem (evolution).
Negativity bias: Velcro for bad and Teflon for good ones
Neg narrows perceptual field. + broaden. Helen Keller " When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us"
Solution: Intentional pay attention to- savoring, gratitude, self-appreciation
