Why
Why it rains heavily
It often rains more heavily, when the it has been warm weather, and the warmer air is cooled, and the moisture condenses. Because the warm air can hold more moisture than cool air. β

How
Water droplets form a cloud. β The water droplets condense onto one another inside the cloud, which causes the droplets to grow. Once the water droplets get too heavy in the cloud, the droplets descend to earth, which is called rain. π§
Where
In the UK, the wettest parts are mainly in mountain regions. e.g. Snowdonia, the lake district and Scottish highlands. These parts of the UK, receive more than 4 metres of rainfall each year.
