Summative
Definition: These assessments have a high grade value, and are usually assessments to evaluate what students have learn at the end of a unit.

Formative
Definition: These assessments do not have much of a value. These type of assessment is also use to assess students, on a way to provide feedback to and make any changes to the instruction if needed.

Forma formative: Quizzes
Teacher will provide students with a quiz and test to the student at the end of the lesson in order to check for students knowledge.
Diagnostic
Definition: These are pre-assessments that teachers gives students to find out their strengths and weaknesses. Then based on this teachers plan their instruction to meet the students needs.
This can be a preassessment given to the students before beginning the lesson to have an idea of how to plan the instruction of the lesson.
Where to start Assessment, to see the students level of reading in order to place them in the appropriate small group for guided reading
Performance
These assessment are task given to the students to perform instead of an assessment were they need to answer questions.
Creating a portfolio on a topic, individual/group projects.
Interim/Benchmark
These assessments are to check on the students learning and to make sure whether or not students are ready to perform well on future assessments.

Computerized exam that is given to grade levels from 3rd and above elementary school to check for their learning.
MAP
Test that is computerize, and given to the students at the beginning, middle and end of the year to check learning and achievement growth.
