Assessments
Formative Assessment: is a way of assessing students to get feedback to use for adjusting instruction. They are low stakes, so they have little to no grade value.
Students will create a post it with a list of the materials each pig is holding and predict which one is the strongest.

Summative Assessment: are used to evaluate student learning at the end of a unit. These are usually high stakes, so they have a high grade value.

Performance Assessment: in an assessment that requires students to perform a task rather than regular tests or answering questions.

Students will retell the story in a play, teacher will be assessed in their reading comprehension.
Interim/Benchmark: are used to see where students are in their learning and determine if they are on track with their learning to do well on future assessments.

Diagnostic: are used as forms of pre-assessments to determine a students' strengths and weaknesses as well as prior misconceptions. This information can help teachers to plan their instruction to meet student needs.
