The liberator
Due to the ways in which jesus challenged the political and Religious strutures of the time he is often seen as a liberator
Ruther would see jesus as part of the goldeb thread that runs though out the bible, which is the messahe of liberation. She applys this to strugles with gender.
Liberation theologists would also agree the Jesus is a liberator and would go as far as to say that if Jesus was in the same possition as those living in South America in the late 20th centry he would have been a freedom fighter.
This is also exprersed though his cristical look on the pharisees and the way they lived there lives.
His miracles are also a way in which he is seen to be able to liberate people. However this time it is to mean he liberates people from suffering.
Healing the women with a blood dieseas is an exarple of this as he is not only liberating her from her illness but also from the prejadice that she faced due to her illness.
The parable of the good samarition is an exarple of how Jesus's wisdom relates to his actions as a liberator.
Thought this story Jesus challenges a number of jewish views at the time one of which is challenging the idea that tuching a dead body was impure

Not only this be that fact that he speeks of a somariton liberaties and challenges the ideas and pejodices that many members of the audiece had towards those people.
