Your heart pounds in your ears. Nearing the Aquarium door, you peer into the darkness, listening intently. For a ghost, a murderer, or a lost pizza delivery guy who came in one of the many back doors, you’re not sure. There’s movement. A cat slinks toward you, the floor creaking beneath its orange paws.
When it sees you, it pauses to meow, head tilting back toward the Aquarium room as if to beckon you. You follow it into the room. Flicking on a light switch, you take in your surroundings. Twelve fish tanks sit on ornate tables, a light with a different colored bulb illuminating each.

One of the little swimmers reminds you of the pet fish you won at the fair when you were 10 years old. You named it “Pirate” because it had a jagged scar across its left side. Your eyes track the fish as it navigates the tank. It turns, revealing a jagged scar on its left side. You squint – oddly enough, it looks almost identical to the scar your fish had. Could it be…? No. You flushed your fish years ago.
