CAP is another career that you will be required to take in your A-level years. CAP enthuses students as it is a course that they get sponsored to do by local business meaning their is a money incentive
Students will complete their A-level career in their last years of school. This career really motivates and enthuses students to complete their studies as they have chosen the subjects that are best suited to them.
Students will also be required to take EPQ and LAMDA, these are great courses for A-level students to take as they will really help them and encourage them for the world of work. The LAMDA course helps people with public speaking, a skill that will never be regretted when out at work. EPQ helps your creative mind get going which further helps you in the business world
Events
Often a number of sports events will take place throughout the year. Every year a sports day takes place where the school is split up into 3 teams and a range of athletics events take place. We also may plan a summer or winter tournament on a Non-VC day if we think it links where we would do sports appropriate to the time of year
A number of events are often planned throughout the year by the events team. Throughout the year a number of
Non-VC days are given to the campuses from head of OSG where the events team plan an event fort that specific day
Often we will do at least 1 or 2 concerts throughout the school year too where students get to showcase their musical knowledge
Well being
The learning centre is a great provision for the students it means they can work where ever they want depending on their task. There are quite zones of individual work, semi-collaborative areas where you can work in small groups and then collaborative areas where you works as big groups on a set task
There is a range of furniture around the learning centre that is suited to the different zones, in the quite zones there is single desks and then as you work your way up into the collaborative zones there are bigger booths and tables where people can work together
Laptops are a great provision and all students have them, it helps you be more creative with your work and means you can work remotely where you have lessons via zoom rather than face to face teaching on site the whole time
Examinations
Depending on what courses you take for your A-levels will depend on how many exams you take. If you take an A-level course you will do solely exams. However if you chose a Cambridge tech course then you will do a mix of exams and course work
