Water Cycle, evaporates - Coggle Diagram
Water Cycle
3. What is ground water?
precipitation
rain, snow, sleet, hail
runoff
water flowing across Earth's surface
infiltration
water soaking into ground
ground water
can stay beneath surface from few days to few thousands of years
feeds wetlands, lakes, streams
drinking water, for farming etc.
4. How does hydrosphere stay balanced?
same supply of water circulating for billions of years
the amount never changes
ex) ocean
97% of water in hydrosphere
huge amount evaporates daily
gets it back from groundwater, precipitation and rivers
same for other reservoirs or storage places
1. What is the water cycle?
Earth's surface water
- oceans, rivers, lakes
important part of the ecosystem
every living creatures depend on clean water
2. What is hydrosphere?
Earth's circulatory system of water
fixed amount of water
pumped around hydrosphere by sun
sun (heat energy) breaks bonds between water molecules
evaporation
evaporates
liquid -> gas
gaseous water condenses -> clouds
big enough water molecules
fall as rain/snow/sleet/hail
