        Professional. Is this a person you can learn professionalism from? Are they respected by their colleagues? How do you know? Ask around!
        
        Technique. Is this person a resource you trust for skills, procedures? Can you trust them to teach you this with you best interests at heart and in the interactions? This can change over time.

        What is the motivation for this person’s teaching career? Who are their most successful students? Are their relationships with their former students personal or professional? Ask them. In these answers you’ll find your
        
        Who could this teacher pick up the phone and connect you to that is in the business or industry you wish to work in? Are they willing to? When was the last time they did that for a student and what was the result?
        
        Does this person have “favorite” students? Ask around. Ask other teachers and students. Get all the answers. If they do, and you aren’t the favorite, you may not get served as well as those students they prefer. Look for a teacher who believes all their students have potential and are willing to go to bat for them both academically and in the professional world.
